Executive Coaching
"Executive leadership effectiveness starts with balancing leadership and management and knowing when to emphasize each."     Peter Stephenson, Naked Leadership

Corporate executives, along with the corporations they serve, face huge internal and external challenges.  Executives are consistently asked to do more with less; to do their job while developing those that they lead; and to strategically plan for and execute corporate visions, competencies, and goals that they may or may not have participated in developing.  Clearly, the executives have leadership skills and competencies that have gotten them to where they are.  Thriving in their current positions or continuing to develop along the corporate ladder can sometimes require additional skills and competencies; or, at the very least, a deepening of their current skills and competencies.  Executive coaching has consistently proven to be a leadership solution for executive growth and development.

Bay Centre has created a corporate Executive Leadership Program that is comprised of the following components:

Assessment:

The initial program features a series of assessments and coaching conversations to determine knowledge of leadership behaviors, leadership style, personality profile, 360 degree performance review, learning and communication style, and strategic understanding and execution of corporate goals, values, and competencies.  Executive coaching begins and ends with executive self-awareness.  The assessments and sessions serve to highlight both how the executive sees themselves as well as how they are viewed by others.  Executives, charged with their own employee's development, find this part of the process to be enlightening and useful as a model for employee development.  Executives that model self-awareness, first, pave the way for their employees to also value self-awareness.  The Assessment component of the Executive Leadership Program generally takes 3 - 4 sessions, inclusive of the personality and 360 assessments, feedback, and coaching.

Alignment:

Once a leader is clear about their leadership style and behaviors, they then turn their attention to corporate alignment.  This part of the program assists leaders in achieving the highest level of satisfaction as they understand the part they play in creating organizational success through personal and team development.  This involves the tasks of defining, for themselves, their unique corporate and team contribution; having a 3-way conversation with their boss to insure alignment of strategic developmental goals; and creating coaching contract objectives to be achieved within the context of the coaching engagement.  The Alignment component of the Executive Leadership Program is generally 3 - 4 sessions, inclusive of the 3-way conversation with the boss.

Achievement:

As the executive moves into the final component of the Executive Leadership Program, an Executive Leadership Plan is established and executed using specific feedback from the Assessment and Alignment phase of the program.  Benchmarks are developed, time frames established, and developmental goals defined.  Feedback results from the 3-way conversation with the boss is also folded into the plan.  Coaching sessions for sustainability, accountability, and the formation of new success habits are conducted.  The final step of this program is a presentation to top executives, and their team, if desired, in which the leader shares the learnings and successes of their coaching experience.  Corporate leadership is able to experience, directly, the key learnings, strategic changes, and leadership growth as told by the executive themselves.  This also serves to demonstrate the corporation's return on their leadership investment.  This component of the Executive Leadership Program is generally 3 sessions, inclusive of the Executive Leadership Plan presentation.

Customization:

Not every executive finds the entire Executive Leadership Development Program necessary for their needs.  Some executives or corporations do not seek a 360 degree assessment and feedback.  Some have their own assesment process.  Some executives just want a "brush up", fine tuning, or are just seeking the answer to a particular question and want a coach to facilitate their exploration and decision-making process.  Whatever the solution required by either an executive or a corporation, we at Bay Centre are dedicated to customized solutions that work.
