In order to get original ideas, we need to be able to look at the same information everyone else does and organize it into a new and different pattern.  To solve problems we have to break away from the obvious way of looking at things.  This is active thinking.  It is the formation and use of new patterns of information that gives rise to new ideas.

At Bay Centre, we are dedicated to approaching client's presenting issues differently.  We believe that it is critical to ask new and better questions - to look at the issue from all sides with complete information from every source impacting that student.  Every single person is unique.  Every parent knows that.  It is that uniqueness that must be preserved while working, specifically, to create opportunities for growth and development.  Our clients come to us presenting with a wide range of issues from reading to learning disorders to counseling concerns.  Our commitment is to get an integrated view of that issue while seeking feedback that will help us, as experts, spot the things that others may have missed.

We have a wide variety of academic solutions at Bay Centre.  For over 25 years we have been on the leading edge of academic remediation.  Some of our programs are:
  • JumpStart2Emagine: our reading program with a built-in guarantee to achieve at least 1 - 2.5 grade levels in 26 hours.
  • SecondChance2Emagine: our academic readiness program that addresses the skills and strategies necessary for academic success
  • ADDtheFamily: our AD/HD solutions for families
  • ADDtheWork: our AD/HD solutions for work
  • ADDtheLove: our AD/HD solutions for relationships of all ages
  • more
Our programs begin with a comprehensive intake with the parent.  It takes about an hour and a half to complete.  It is an interview process with a professional intake specialist.  You will be asked things like the medical history, developmental history, current support resources, your view of the presenting issue, and so on.  We conduct this as an interview because we want to get to know your student through your eyes.  Parents are always our first and best resource.  With your permission, we then seek information from your pediatrician, daycare, and any other significant resource in the student's life.  We also conduct a visit to the school in order to establish open communication with them.  We find their input to also be valuable.  So often the educators are excited to find that there is another professional working with the student and are quite willing to make reasonable adjustments for the best good of the student.  Should your student enter one of our programs, this school contact is extended every week.  We want to ensure that what we are doing at Bay Centre is translating into both the school and home life.
