"Everything starts as somebody's daydream."
Larry Niven
Most people dream of finding that special someone, of spending their life in partnernship with a mate that understands them, and of creating a family that supports them, no matter what.
Relationships can be challenging. All of us bring whatever training, experiences, beliefs, values, and past relationships with us, which can make it difficult to be in the relationship with the person before us. To further complicate the matter, individuals with AD/HD face additional challenges. Some of them are:
- failure to make social connections, sometimes resulting in inappropriate behavior
- inattentiveness to details
- surface and inattentive conversations
- impulsive and interruptive behavior
- substance abuse, and so on (for a more complete list of characterstics see our page on Diagnostic Criteria)
Relationship coaching and family counseling offer two methodolgies for creating a healthy family and managing individual AD/HD features. Call Bay Centre today at (850) 438-4292 or email us at solutions@baycentre.net.
